Ottawa, Canada-based provider of smart unified communications solutions and applications Mitel has announced that it has emerged as a market leader in terms of IP telephony port shipments as well as unified communications and collaboration revenue gain in Q1 calendar year 2010. These findings are based on market research conducted by the Synergy Research Group.
In its report titled ‘Enterprise Voice Market Share Report Q1 2010,’ Synergy has said that Mitel has recorded a jump of 6.2 percent as compared to Q4 2009. The company has also captured an extra percent of the market share and now occupies 6.7 percent of the market, emerging as the 5th largest player.
Mitel has performed equally well in the “ Unified Communications & Collaboration (UCC) Worldwide Q1 Market Share Analysis,” leading the market with a 4.8 percent increase.
Europe has been the most promising region for Mitel, where the company increased shipments by 18.4 percent. This represents the highest market share gain of any vendor (2.3 percent) resulting in 7.3 percent market share. In North America, the vendor is among the top three in terms of IP telephony ports shipments.
